This is what I chose to prepare for the California driver's license test, and it will serve for that - but it is FULL of mistakes and typos, and places where one word could change the entire meaning of a sentence, such as:"9. If you notice a child is about running into the road, you ought: [A]Blare your horn and increase your speed..."Yes, you should sound your horn, but the answer provided ALSO says "and increase your speed," which no same person would do with a child about to run into the road.Another example is:"When you are involved in a crash and there is an object lodged in one of the victims, what would you do? [A] Remove the object and stop the bleeding with a thick clothing material.[B] wait for an ambulance to come." The answer is marked as 'B' but is immediately followed by the comment, "When an object is lodged into a victim of a road accident, try to remove the object. Do not move the victim unnecessarily, get a clean piece of thick clothing material to stop the bleeding.Ensure the best possible hygienic practice at that condition in order to reduce the risk of infection" which is part of the answer 'A' and you are NOT supposed to removed objects lodged into accident victims because doing so causes bleeding to begin immediately, and sometimes fatally, because the object itself was sealing the wound.I can use this to make me think about this set of questions - but it is making me consult the official manual. The 'test questions' are often poorly worded - wonder where they came from.The quality of the book is poor. No table of contents, no headings, no review of laws (except in the answers), and no grouping of the questions in any logical way. If I were not an adult with 50 years driving experience and a current driver's license from the state I came from, this would be a terrible way to prepare for the exam.
Purchased this book for my 15 year old daughter to prepare her for her driving permit examination. I was very surprised to learn that the proper technique to avoid a child in the street is to speed up the car rather than put on the brakes. There are plenty of grammatical errors throughout; including missing words and punctuation. The two pictures included with this review portray only a couple of omissions/errors. Highly disappointed.
Many missing words in phrases, several answers in total disagreement with Ca. DMV booklet.
The questions in the book were not on the california DMV test! I paid for extra shippingvto get it overnight but did not receive it the next day. Hours before the test.
This book helped me to study for my test which I passed! I only missed one!
