I purchased this ebook because I love rom-com and I also love books set in the UK, especially in London. I'm familiar with the author and I know that I've enjoyed her previous books (under a different name). The Big Little Wedding in Carlton Square takes the reader into a part of London not normally "seen" in romantic fiction. Emma's family is a little different, but then again, aren't most families? Her father was a London cab driver, her mother cleans. She has a quirky great Aunt and a very unusual Uncle. But, what a loving family! Daniel's family may be the complete opposite, which is where the fun begins. This story shows us a little of two very different classes in London society, how they are different, and how they are the same. There is plenty of humor, embarrassing situations, wedding angst, and feel good moments. The book is well written, and gives a great "London-y" vibe. I would definitely recommend it!
I loved this book; it was a great summer read with interesting characters. Part of me wonders if some of the circumstances are a bit dated (like the dressmaker's bolts of lace, unused in a window being salvageable), and the closeness of the community (I live in a very close community in a city...and even mine isn't that close.) But still...I'm keeping this book for when I plan my own wedding!
This was a great start to this series. Though I did start to get annoyed with how much Emma kept comparing her an Daniel's family. It all came back around at the wedding and I cried reading that party. Can't wait to read more in this series.
This the first of Lilly Bartlett's books that I have read, and it won't be the last. What a great story. The characters are easy to connect with. A great story. Thank you.

This was an enjoyable tale of the have and have-nots figuring out how to pull off the perfectwedding on a budget so everyone can live happily ever after. I can't wait to see what unfolds next for the newlyweds.
I was given a copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it. I really enjoyed this fun book. Thinking it over to critique it, I realized I really had no complaints. Sometimes chick lit books are predictable, over dramatic, and cheesy, but this book was none of those things. This is the story of Emma and Daniel planning their wedding. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and she, well... wasn't. Daniel's parents are expecting a huge, elegant ceremony and are willing to contribute financially, but Emma's father won't hear of it. Emma has to pull off an almost royal wedding on a shoestring budget.This book took me back to my own wedding planning days, which was fun. I also loved both main characters. Emma is desperately trying not to betray where she comes from, even though she's marrying into something else. Daniel is clueless about his privilege. The secondary characters were very entertaining, yet also heartwarming.The plot moves along at a good pace. Emma has a funny "voice." I am really excited to read more in this series! I would recommend it to any fan of chick lit, and really, anyone who has ever planned a wedding!
I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review. I love this book!!! I have been a fan of Michele Gorman's for a long time now and was really excited to see a new book. As usual, her characters come to life almost immediately. I would love to have been a guest at this wedding and been around to help with the planning. The plot is fun. It is well written and moves quickly. The setting comes to life. I feel like I would recognize Carlton Square if I came upon it. I can't say enough good things about it.However, this book feels much different from Ms. Gorman's other work. I don't really know how to describe it. For as many times as I laughed out loud at the goings on, I also found myself in tears from the depth of the genuine emotions of the characters. To me, that means the author was particularly successful. It is fairly easy to make me laugh (I have a weird sense of humor that finds the oddest things funny). But if you can make me cry like I'm watching a Hallmark commercial at Christmas, that takes skill and this book evidences that kind of writing. Well done! I can't wait to read more.
