The outside of the book is covered with a very soft fabric. The inside front page and back page is a pretty cantaloupe color. There are six lines per day (I'm able to write about three sentences) and five days per page. You can start on any day of the year.
I've had one of these 5-year diaries myself for a few months, and they've become my go-to gift item for any occasion. Great for a engagement/wedding shower gift, a new-parent gift, a graduation gift, a milestone birthday gift, I even recently gave one as a gift when a friend was diagnosed with a chronic disease to help her process and record her life as it changes. Everyone is always intrigued and excited to try it out, and because there's only room for a few sentences every day, it's an extremely accessible and low-commitment start to journaling if you've never tried before. I recommend keeping it by your bedside with a pen, and using it right before going to sleep.
I have completed one 5 year diary, and now look forward to filling out the second. This is a genius idea; the space to write for each day is small enough that I can manage it, and it is interesting to look back and see what you were doing years ago. When I want to write something longer, I do it in my bullet journal.
It's really a great journal! There are 5 lines for each day and an entire page has one date on it and then you just write in the year! It is quite durable and though the cloth does get dirty. Nice size for travel. The little place holder ribbon is nice. All in all the binding holds up quite well and I've had mine for about a year.
I didn't listen to other reviews which stressed how SMALL this is. I found it to be useless because of the small size. I got a Levenger 5 year diary instead, which I really like.
I'm terrible at writing in a journal and the 5 Year Diary works great for me. I don't feel like I have to document my whole day since there are only 5 or 6 lines to write on. I also got one for my wife and she loves it.The book is constructed very well and the Uniball Signo pens I use don't bleed.
Smaller than I thought it would be. But great paper quality and simple format makes it ready to decorate and fill!
Very cute and a great idea. Only space you write the smallest update about your day so you can just look back for a basic reminder of what you thought was important to recall a year latet.
